Changing an Assessment - After Student Submissions - Rolling Enrolments.

This help guide describes how to update an Assessment Task, after it has been included in a class with Rolling Enrolments with an Assessment Plan and Students have submitted Assessment Submissions.

This process may need to be adjusted for your specific set-up. The below steps are current as of the 12th of January 2018.

Updating an Assessment Task After Submissions


  1. Duplicate the Assessment that you wish to change.

  2. Archive the Original Assessment.

  3. Edit and make the applicable changes to the new Assessment.

    • Please note - in order to maintain version control we suggest including in the name of this new Assessment Task that you include "Version 1.1" or "v 1.1".
  4. Publish Assessment v 1.1.

  5. Create Assessment v 1.1 as a Stand-alone Assessment.
  6. Update the Assessment Plan to reflect the new version update.
    1. Choose Assessments → Assessment Plans.
    2. Click the Update Icon next to the Assessment Plan you wish to update.
    3. Select the Delete (-) Icon next to the 'old' Assessment.
    4. Click the Plus (+) icon next to Assessment v 1.1 to add this to the plan.
    5. Click Save.
  7. Add the new Assessment v 1.1 to the Class
    1. Go to the Update page of the Class you wish to update.
    2. In the Subject Details section - Click on the "+Assessment(s)" option.
    3. Select the new Assessment from the Assessments drop down menu.
    4. Select the Subject(s) that you wish this assessment to apply to.
    5. Click Submit.
  8. Optional Step - Remove the Old Assessment recorded against the Class 
    PLEASE NOTE: If you complete this step, this will remove the 'old' assessment task from any existing enrolments and is not recommended.
    1. Go to the Update page of the Class you wish to update.
    2. In the Subject Details section - Click on the name of the Subject you wish to remove the Old Assessment from.
    3. Click the Delete (-) icon next to the Old assessment to delete it.
    4. Click Update Subject Details for this Class.
  9. Optional Step - Repeat step 8 above for each Subject that contains this old Assessment.


Once you have completed the steps above the following will apply:

If step 8 and 9 were completed:

  • Upon enrolling new students, the only Assessment option available to select upon enrolment will be the new Assessment v 1.1.

If step 8 and 9 were NOT completed:

  • The students who had previously enrolled previous to the 'old' assessment being removed will have that 'old' assessment still marked against their enrolment record and will NOT have the new assessment.
  • Upon enrolling new students, the assessment options available to select upon enrolment will be both the new assessment v 1.1 and the 'old' assessment.
